Pogopop:
Hello Andrea, how's going on?
Shandon:
Everything's fine, thanks.
Pogopop:
May you introduce the band to Pogopop's listeners?
Shandon:
Yes, well we are from Milan, we started in 1995 and we all come from different
musical experiences. The common point is taht we all like ska, which is
going on great here in Milan.
Thanks to the tournée
with the Offrping we reached the great audience...
Pogopop:
Infact the next question was about this.... how's gone with the Offspring?
Shandon:
It has been wonderful! We did the whole italian tour with them and we had
a lot of fun... Even in Rome we had fun....
Pogopop:
And I have to say that, at the contrary of what happen in small clubs,
where alll the bands are weel treated, it's not easy to be well treated
at the Palaeur, where support band are not considered so much.... But you
went great...!
Shandon:
To be honest as we hit the stage they threw us everything! But it's normal,
'cause the guys were anxious to see The Offspring and it's normal that
they are excited. Probably some Shandon's member did or should have done
the same....
Pogopop:
Yes but after a while you made the audience quiet...
Shandon:
Yeah, after this everything went well and we sold also a good amount of
CD.
Pogopop:
So, let's talk about your last work "Nice Try" which is very pretty for
grafics, songs and lyrics...
Shandon:
Yeah, we wanted to be careful at the particulkars also and I believe the
grafics are an important thing... It's something like cartoon, we thought
it was fun and we did it...
Pogopop:
You have songs in english, italian and spanish: this choice is for the
customers or there is some other reason?
Shandon:
To say the true there's only one song in spanish, which is called "Lamar
y Lavonia", a song about love which was good to sing in spanish. The most
part of the songs are in english because we all listen a lot of anglosaxon
music and for us is natural to sing in english. I think italian is very
good for hardcore songs.
Pogopop:
There's a song, Diamanda, which is about a female cat which have fun with
life...
Shandon:
Oh yeah! It's the cat that lives at my office... It seems that she says
"when will you give me something to eat, you dumb boy?"!!!
Pogopop:
Then there's another song called ìVegetaleî which is about lazyness and
to be boredÖ.
Shandon:
Yes that's trueÖ it's that kind of sensation that you feel when you look
around yourself and you don't feel without ease, when you feel that kind
of apathy about the world that's around you... It's difficult to explain...
Pogopop:
Well, Pogopop's audience is more or less on this line, you don't need so
many words to explain this kind of feeling... By the way, here with us
there's a faithful Pogopop's listener, you have to know that when we met
first he came here with The Shandon' T-shirt! He'd like to do a question
to you...
Andrea:
Yes, this is my question: in Milan, differently from Rome, there's a very
rich music scene with bands and clubs to play. How do you live the Milan
scene?
Shandon:
Yes it's true, in Milan there are a lot of venues to play, studios, gigs...
Sometimes one evening you find four ska concerts... it's the ideal scene
for the groups, even if sometimes there's a bit of rivality between bandsÖ.
Pogopop:
Yeah, Milan is more in Europe for sure....
Shandon:
By the way, we hope to play in Roma... We could organize dates in the whole
Italy and in Rome we started from Palaeur, it's not bad!
Pogopop:
That's no bad for sure! By the way, Pogopop too decided to start organizing
concerts, radio-sessions and things like this, so keep it in mind for the
future.
Shandon:
We'll do it for sure!
Pogopop:
So, before of listening your ìVampire girlî, can you tell us something
about your future projects?
Shandon:
We're at the moment busy into recording of new songs. We hbave about eight
or nine new tracks ready...
Pogopop:
And this is a novelty for our listeners! Thank you for being with us, do
you wish to say hello to our audience?
Shandon:
Sure, hello to all Pogopop's listeners and see you soon!
