Guys,
this has been one more great show I can add to this summer season! the
stadium was half full (16,000 tickets sold by presale, and 2-3,000 sold
the day of the show) so I could move wherever I wanted and, most importantly,
stand very close to front row without any pushing.
The
band was pumped up, even if Michael had a bit a problems singing thehigh
notes. He said they were very pleased to play different cities like
Padova instead of the usual Milano and Roma...WELL SAID! :-)
Michael's
trouble is the reason they played a shorter set, a bit less than 2
hours, but anyway they offered a very interesting setlist, with lots of
old songs.
The
best moment of that night has been the beginning of the encore, when they
played one of the greatest versions of "Everybody Hurts" that I have ever
heard.
The
crowd was not familiar with most of the songs, so they started to sing
along only for the singles (Losing My Religion, Imitation of Life, etc..).
Cheers to the front row fans who kept singing "R-E-M" or "Michael" in
between
songs, the band really appreciated it. The weather has been extremely hot
all the afternoon, but then we got a
very
fresh breeze right before the show started.
Last
but not least, I went to the stadium by bycicle, what a cool way to be
a rocker in 2003! :-)
As
usual, thanks to Stefano for taking these cool pictures while i was taping.
My
next show is AC/DC + Rolling Stones in Hannover, Germany, on august 8th.
It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n' roll :-] |
